A longer sabbatical than I’d originally planned…

Hi everyone

One of the reasons for my lengthy absence.

One of the reasons for my lengthy absence.

Is anyone still out there???

It has been such a LONG time since my last post, and I’m really sorry about that. I did kind of drop off the planet and the longer I stayed away, the harder it was to get back to thebigfatnoodle.

There were a myriad of reasons that I won’t bore anyone with but the long and short of it was that we had an AWESOME trip to the US last year, but while we were away, I ended up having an epiphany of sorts. I’d suddenly realised how much time (too much time in fact!) I’d ended up spending in front of my computer instead of really enjoying everything else – from time with my husband to time outdoors. When we arrived back with literally hundreds of photos to sift through, I didn’t want to be stuck in front of my screen again and the photos made me keep wanting to be outside, outdoors, out-anywhere but in front of my screen. I wasn’t planning to stop thebigfatnoodle, just not spend as much time as I’d been doing in 2012…

That was one big reason but pretty soon after we got back, we also ended up getting the best news my husband and I could have wished for – which was that the breeder we’d been waiting for finally had some puppies. Those of you who followed this blog last year will know that I’ve been patiently waiting to add to our family.

Meet Crumpet, who entered our lives late last year. She is our little terror (she’s also a black mini schnauzer), and honestly, even if I’d wanted to blog, I seriously have not had the time.

Meet Crumpet - she's now almost 9 months old. She's a right handful too and very, very naughty!

Crumpet has really taken over our lives, and we’ve had to devote pretty much all of our spare time to her and her training. Not that she’s still very well trained though, doh!

She’s naughty as hell, and can be a right pain as she hates being ignored but we are loving every second of every minute of every day that she’s been with us.

Anyway, she’s now almost 9 months old and we’re gradually re-balancing our lives so it doesn’t revolve solely around her, phew!

I will over the next few months start to post new recipes again for thebigfatnoodle but it’ll be at pretty random times. We’ve had a totally awesome summer in the UK and until the cold sets in, I’m loathe to spend too much time indoors. At least now you know why I haven’t been around.

For all my fellow wordpres friends, I haven’t been commenting but it doesn’t mean I haven’t been visiting your pages either! I just haven’t left any messages but it’s great to see everyone still loving what they do!

Lots of love again!
